A salon has a specific workflow that the interior must support - entry and waiting, consultation, service stations, washing stations, billing, and product display. Every one of these has spatial and design requirements. A waiting area that feels comfortable increases appointment conversion. Service stations with good lighting and adequate spacing between chairs improve the client experience and make the staff's work easier.
What we design in a salon or parlour
Reception and billing counter - the first and last impression. Waiting area with comfortable seating and adequate distraction. Service stations with mirrors, individual lighting per station, and chair spacing that gives clients privacy without feeling isolated. Washing stations with ergonomic design and waterproof materials. Product display shelving integrated into the design rather than added as freestanding units. Colour palette and material choices that communicate the brand positioning - clinical and clean for medispa-style salons, warm and luxurious for premium salons, bright and modern for youth-oriented hair studios.
Lighting - the most important element in a salon
Salon lighting is a specialised requirement. Service station mirrors need diffused, shadow-free lighting so both the stylist and client can see colour and finish accurately. Warm overhead lighting creates a pleasant atmosphere but can distort hair colour perception. We design dual-purpose lighting for salon service areas - functional task lighting at stations and ambient lighting in waiting and reception areas - that serve both purposes without compromise.
Low budget salon interior design
Not every salon starts with a large budget. A well-designed small salon in Ahmedabad can be completed for ₹4 to ₹8 lakh and still look professional and function well. The key is prioritising the right elements - good lighting at service stations, clean materials that are easy to maintain, and a reception area that makes a strong first impression.
