INSIGHTS.
Space planning and furniture layout
Before any material or colour is decided, we plan the layout. Where does the sofa face? Is there enough clearance for movement? Does the TV wall anchor the room or compete with the window? Good space planning makes a room feel bigger and more comfortable than any expensive material can.
TV unit and storage wall
The TV wall is typically the largest vertical surface in a living room. We design it as a full unit - storage, display, and TV panel integrated - rather than a TV bracket with shelves around it. Material and finish choices here have an outsized effect on the feel of the room.
False ceiling and POP design
A POP false ceiling in the living room is one of the most effective design moves in an Ahmedabad home. It defines zones, hides electrical conduit, and allows for recessed and cove lighting that transforms the mood of the room in the evening. We design living room false ceiling as part of the overall room plan - not as a separate afterthought.
Common ceiling treatments we do: Gypsum board with recessed downlights. POP cornice with cove lighting. Wooden batten ceiling for a warmer feel. Combination of flat and dropped sections to define the seating and dining zones.
Lighting design
Ambient lighting for the whole room, task lighting for reading corners, and accent lighting for artwork or display - a living room needs all three working together. Most homes in Ahmedabad use only ambient lighting and then wonder why the room feels flat in the evening. We plan lighting in layers, matched to how you actually use the space.
Wall treatments
Paint, wallpaper, textured plaster, stone cladding, or wooden panel - the back wall behind the sofa or the wall behind the TV is often where a living room design either works or fails. We discuss wall treatment options during the design phase and show them in 3D before committing.
Drawing room considerations
In many Ahmedabad homes, the drawing room and living room are the same space - or adjacent. If you have a separate drawing room for guests, we design it with a slightly more formal character while keeping it consistent with the rest of the home.
